School – Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir

SARASWATI SHISHU VIDYA MANDIR is a co-educational English medium school affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi and situated at Dhurwa in Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) township, Ranchi. It has a serene and beautiful surroundings. The school aims to giving qualitative excellence in the field of education as well as all round development which would develop the students’ innate potential and enable them to think divergently. The school is managed by Shishu Vikas Mandir Samiti (Jharkhand), Dhurwa, Ranchi, a registered body under the Indian Societies Registration Act of 1860 with eminent educationists and philanthropists.

TRANSPORTATION

The school provides transportation to those students who wish to avail the facility (optional) on payment. Provision of transport facility is subject to route convenience and availability of seats in the bus.

SCHOOL BUILDING

The School has two buildings – one for the primary and Middle Section and the other for the Senior Section of School. The School has well equipped modern labs of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science. It is also has a well stocked library having more than 20,000 books. A large number of reputed journals are subscribed by the school. There are separate rooms for Art, Craft and Music. There is a spacious hall for prayer and other programmes.

LIBRARY

The school has most updated and well equipped science laboratories for conducting practical classes to promote scientific aptitude. In Chemistry Lab. students learn the techniques of the preparation, identification and estimation of chemical substances.

LABORATORIES

The Physics laboratory at SSVM has been structured as general physics laboratory. In the physics lab. the students have a full hand operation of measuring instrument such as Vernier Callpers, Screw Gauge, Spherometer, Travelling Microscope are some of mentioned. The students are also provided with full hand on experiences, in optical instrument, experiment based on semiconductor.

In our school, biology laboratory is well equipped accommodating at least 40 students at a time. Modern apparatus including Compound Microscopes, Dissecting Microscopes and the slides are available for the biology students. The Lab, has various museum specimens of plants and animals with their classification and the identifying features. The charts, models and the various kits also available. The other apparatus are also in good number and well arranged.

SSVM Dhurwa setting up a mathematical laboratory to help students overcome their fobia of the students and make it more interesting. The lab. is a novel concept which enables students to learn and explore mathematical concepts and verify facts and theorems. The lab also encourages students to think and discuss among themselves as well as with the teacher. For this we provide concrete objects, models, charts, graphs, pictures and posters which helps the students to build interest and confidence in learning the subject.

COMPUTER EDUCATION:

The school is also equipped with computers to cater to the latest computer education programme. The course commences from Std. III to X and special computer courses are available for classes XI and XII students, who have opted for computer science.
